Vechtdal leg of the Pieterpad from Hardenberg to Ommen
This walk between Hardenberg and Ommen is the second part of a multi-day walk on the Vechtdal route. The entire route takes you from Coevorden to Ommen and this route follows part of the Pieterpad, the most famous long-distance walking route in the Netherlands. During this walking tour you can enjoy the peace and quiet on the banks of the Vecht between Hardenberg and Ommen.

B&B De Rheezer Room Tea and Coffee House
The starting point of this route is Hardenberg train station. From here you walk along the Vecht to the idyllic monument village Rheeze. Need a break? Then you can settle down at B&B De Rheezer Kamer Thee- en Koffiehuis.  Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a piece of homemade cake on the terrace and then head out again full of energy. You can also stay here in the stylish B&B.

Junne’s arty “fish ladders”
In the direction of Ommen you will pass the fish ladders near Junne. This is a diversion around the weir at Junne and Diffelen that gives fish the opportunity to swim up and down the river from the weir. Before the construction of these fish ladders, fish regularly got stuck in the water of the weir. The fish can now swim freely around the weir and the fish ladders also look special.

Estate Het Laer
Via Junne you then set course for Ommen. You walk past Landgoed Het Laer just before you reach the end point of the route. This estate includes an old manor that has been beautifully renovated over the centuries. Eventually you will arrive at Ommen train station, where you can board the train to travel back home or you can of course continue south on the Pieterpad.
